The Sonny Downs Quartet makes microtonal music using the Buchla 200e modular synthesizer, on the lush green coast of Eastern
Australia surrounded by subtropical rainforest.
The Quartet uses just intonation, a natural tuning method which uses intervals based on simple ratios, rather than the more common 12 tone equal division of the octave.
